We have reached our first milestone of 100 followers! Thank you all for the warm welcome 🥰

A big milestone event we had was being accepted as a member organisation to the International Kyudo Federation (IKYF) in December 2023, along with Brasil Kyudo Kai, Kyudo Association (Singapore), and the Hungarian Kyudo Federation.

We were gifted with the IKYF flag while we were in Nagoya in Februrary/March of 2024, and we were excited to present this to our members from all around the country at the recent 2nd National Seminar and Taikai (Championships) and our 10th Year Anniversary event held at Melbourne in August 2024.

On 9 August, Consul Mr YAEGASHI Toshinori kindly presented the IKYF flag to the Australian Kyudo Association during the Opening Ceremony of the event. This was the first time that the Australian Kyudo championships and associated seminars were held in Victoria in the presence of five high ranked sensei from Japan and Taiwan. Consul Yaegashi unveiled the IKYF flag given to AKA's Vice President, Calista Wu, to mark Australia's entry as a new member nation.

We would like to thank everyone involved in making this membership possible, including but not limited to the Executive Board that submitted the application (Erell Delesvaux, Calista, Andrew Smith and Peter Carr), to our friends New Zealand Kyudo Federation and Taiwan Kyudo Association for supporting our application, and to all of our members for practising Kyudo and growing the community in our little corner of the world.

We look forward to many more years of continuing our Kyudo journey 🏹🎯
